Microbe Multiplier is a carefully formulated microbial food blend designed to fuel the rapid growth of beneficial bacteria and fungi while you brew actively aerated compost tea (AACT). Added to your brew, it gives the biology in your compost and castings a balanced food source to multiply quickly, producing a rich, active tea.
Compost tea delivers living biology directly to the root zone, activating nutrient cycling, improving soil structure, and supporting plant health. When brewed with the right food source like Microbe Multiplier, you give those microbes everything they need to thrive. It's one of the most useful tools in organic and regenerative growing.
What It Does
- Supercharges microbial growth – Delivers a balanced food source for both bacteria and fungi, supporting a diverse, well-rounded microbial population.
- Enhances nutrient cycling – Feeds the microbes that break down organic matter, helping make nutrients more available to your plants.
- Boosts soil and plant health – Greater microbial diversity supports improved soil structure, stronger roots, and more resilient plants.
What's In It
Alfalfa Meal, Azomite, Basalt Rock Dust, Frass (Black Soldier Fly), Glacial Rock Dust, Humic Acid, Mineralized Phosphate, Moringa Leaf Powder, Nettle Leaf Powder, North Atlantic Kelp Meal, Oat Flour, Soluble Kelp Blend (Laminaria, Sargassum & Ascophyllum Nodosum), Wheat Bran.
How to Use
Use the brewing chart below to measure the right amount of Microbe Multiplier and the other ingredients for your water volume, whether you're brewing in a 5 gallon pail, a barrel, or a tote. The "per litre" row lets you scale to any custom batch size.

Fill your vessel with clean, dechlorinated water at room temperature. Add your measured fish hydrolysate to the water, then dissolve your molasses in a little warm water and stir it in. Place your measured Compost & Castings Blend and Microbe Multiplier into your mesh brew bag, zip it shut, and submerge it, massaging the bag a few times during the brew to keep the material from compacting and to draw the biology out. Aerate continuously for 24 to 36 hours with a properly sized air pump, since undersized aeration is the most common cause of a poor brew. Apply your tea as soon as it's ready, while the biology is most active.
Brew temperature matters: in cooler rooms microbial activity slows and may need a longer brew time, while warmer conditions speed it up.
How Often to Use
For best results, brew and apply actively aerated compost tea every 7 to 14 days through the growing season, using Microbe Multiplier as your microbial food source each time.
Other Compost Tea Ingredients
Each compost tea ingredient is available on its own, whether you're restocking a single item or scaling up to a barrel or tote and need larger quantities. Pair Microbe Multiplier with:
- Compost & Castings Blend – the living biology at the heart of your tea, available in bulk sizes
- Wild Fish Hydrolysate – a cold-processed protein and nutrient source for your microbes
- Organic Blackstrap Molasses – a clean carbon source that fuels rapid microbial growth
Complete Your Brew
To brew, you'll need a brewing vessel, a compost tea brew bag, and an air source to keep it oxygenated. For 5 gallon pail brews, our Compost Tea Equipment Kit has everything you need. Scaling up to a barrel? Match a larger commercial air pump with additional airstones. For a full tote, a regenerative ring blower delivers the high air volume needed, and at that scale you'll run the air through a PVC manifold or drilled PVC pipe rather than airstones. Whether you're growing houseplants, a vegetable garden, an orchard, or a full field, freshly brewed compost tea is one of the most effective ways to build thriving soil biology.
