*ORDERS FOR BIOLOGICAL PEST CONTROLS MUST BE PLACED BEFORE WEDNESDAYS 11:30 AM PST TO BE SHIPPED THE FOLLOWING WEEK*

Target Pest

Larvae of various species of thrips (first and second larval stages); Eggs and larvae of greenhouse whitefly (Trialeurodes vaporariorum) and cotton whitefly (Bemisia tabaci).

How It Works

Predatory mites reproduce within the sachet and gradually disperse into the crop over a period of several weeks. Using their piercing mouthparts, they feed on prey by extracting its contents. The Ulti-Mite slow-release sachet, made from 100% industrially compostable film, provides consistent pest control, even under extremely dry or humid conditions. Use Limonica in a wide range of salad and ornamental crops, except for tomato.

Suggested Application Rate

The dosage of Limonica Ulti-Mite depends on climate, crop and pest density and should always be adjusted to the particular situation. Start the introduction preventively or as soon as the first pest mites are detected in the crop. Use at least 3,000 sachets per hectare and hang them evenly spaced in the crop. Release should be repeated after 4 weeks if the pest is not controlled.

Instructions for Use

Hang sachets in sheltered locations in the crop, away from direct sunlight. Do not open sachets — each has a pre-punched exit hole. Hold sachets by the cardboard strip to avoid damage.

Amblydromalus limonicus is most effective at temperatures between 13 and 25°C. It is not effective above 30°C. A. limonicus is sensitive to relative humidity below 70%.

Precaution: Application of this product can cause sensitization or allergic reactions

Shelf Life

Use within 1–2 days of arrival. Store at 12–14°C in a dark place if not used immediately. Provide ventilation to prevent CO₂ accumulation.

What to Expect Upon Arrival

This product arrives as slow-release predatory mite sachets. Do not open the sachets; the mites emerge gradually through the built-in exit holes after placement. Little or no visible movement on the outside of the sachet is normal.

Important Notes

We import most biological controls fresh to help ensure customers receive active, viable beneficial insects, mites, and nematodes. Because these are living products with limited shelf life, we do not keep most biologicals stocked in-house.

Please inspect your package and product immediately upon arrival, before release. If you have any concerns about condition or viability, contact us before releasing at admin@optimizeorganics.ca with your order number and clear photos of the package and product. Once beneficials have been released, it becomes much more difficult for us to assess their condition on arrival.

Biological pest control is rarely a one-and-done release. In most active pest situations, sequential releases are needed to build and maintain beneficial populations while pest eggs continue to hatch and existing pest pressure is reduced.

Avoid spraying pesticides, oils, soaps, or other residues immediately before or after release unless compatibility has been confirmed, as these may harm beneficials.
