AMF contains beneficial arbuscular endomycorrhizal fungi designed to improve nutrient efficiency, water uptake, and stress tolerance while maximizing plant growth and yield potential.
When applied at planting or transplant, these beneficial fungi rapidly establish a symbiotic relationship with plant roots. Once colonized, the fungi produce an extensive network of microscopic hyphae that penetrate soil pores too small for root hairs to access. This network effectively expands the functional root surface area by up to 50 times, unlocking nutrients and water that would otherwise remain unavailable.
AMF is formulated in a specialized root-zone conditioning carrier enhanced with naturally derived humic compounds that stimulate root signalling, improve micronutrient availability, and create favourable conditions for rapid mycorrhizal establishment. This integrated biological support system helps protect fungal spores, maintain optimal moisture at the root interface, and promote consistent colonization—ensuring reliable performance under real-world growing conditions.
BENEFITS OF AMF APPLICATION AT TRANSPLANT
Enhanced Nutrient Uptake: AMF significantly improves the plant’s ability to access soil nutrients, particularly phosphorus and essential micronutrients. The fungal hyphae extend well beyond the root zone, releasing enzymes that convert bound nutrients into plant-available forms. This is especially valuable immediately after transplanting, when root systems are limited.
Improved Water Absorption & Drought Tolerance: The fungal network absorbs and transports water more efficiently than roots alone, improving hydration in dry conditions and in soils with poor water-holding capacity. This enhanced water access helps plants maintain growth and vigor during periods of stress.
Enhanced Disease & Stress Resistance: AMF forms a protective interface around roots and stimulates the plant’s natural defence responses, increasing resistance to soil-borne pathogens. Colonized plants also exhibit improved tolerance to environmental stresses, including salinity, temperature extremes, and certain heavy metals.
Soil Structure Improvement: Mycorrhizal fungi contribute to soil aggregation by binding soil particles together, improving aeration, drainage, and root penetration. Better soil structure creates a healthier rhizosphere for long-term plant development.
Reduced Transplant Shock: By accelerating root establishment and improving access to water and nutrients, AMF helps plants adapt more quickly to new environments, minimizing growth setbacks commonly associated with transplant shock.
HOW SHOULD I USE IT?
In order to be the most effective the spores in AMF blend need to make contact with roots.
Dry Powder
Sprinkle AMF powder lightly over the root area of your soil plug transplant, careful to not get any on your plant.
Root Dip Method (Recommended):
Mix AMF with water to form a slurry. Dip roots to ensure even coverage, then transplant immediately.
Planting Hole Application:
Apply 1–2 teaspoons directly into the planting hole or onto exposed roots before backfilling.
Other Uses:
Can be used as a seed treatment, incorporated into soil or growing media, or applied via liquid injection systems where appropriate.
