How to use plant clips
Place a clip on the main stem just below a leaf node or branch, at the Y junction, so it rests against the joint and won't slide down. Add a fresh clip as the plant gains height rather than moving one too far up the stem.
String and twine trellis: Run vertical twine from an overhead wire or frame down to each plant. Clip the stem to the twine at each new set of leaves, roughly every 20 to 30 cm (8 to 12 inches), to keep it trained straight up.
Stakes, cages, and frames: Secure the stem to a stake, cage ring, or wire frame the same way. The clip carries the weight, so heavy fruiting branches are less likely to snap.
Greenhouse and high tunnel: In protected culture the clips pair with overhead string systems and suit the lower-and-lean method, holding the stem to the string as it's dropped and shifted along the row.
