Dolomite Lime (Sandy Powder)

Fast-Acting pH Adjustment ‱ Calcium & Magnesium Source ‱ Improves Soil Health

Our Powdered Dolomite Lime is a ground form of dolomitic limestone (calcium magnesium carbonate), designed for rapid soil pH correction and nutrient availability. Its texture allows it to react more quickly than coarse or granular forms, making it ideal for gardeners who need faster results.

Perfect for gardens, lawns, raised beds, and soil blending, it helps neutralize acidic soils, enhance nutrient uptake, and support strong, healthy plant growth.

🌿 Key Benefits

  • Quickly raises acidic soil pH toward the optimal 6.0–7.0 range
  • Provides calcium (20%) and magnesium (10%) for balanced plant nutrition
  • Improves nutrient availability and soil structure
  • Supports beneficial microbial activity
  • Fine powder for faster soil reaction and even distribution

đŸŒ± Application Guidelines

Apply 300–500 g per 10 mÂČ (approx. 0.75–1.25 lbs per 100 ftÂČ) for general pH maintenance or correction. For best results, base application on soil test results, including calcium and magnesium levels—not just pH.

💧 Tip: Water thoroughly after application to help activate and move lime into the soil.

📌 Rates are based on average loam soil. Sandy soils typically require less, while clay-heavy or highly acidic soils may require more.

🔍 Usage Notes & Pro Tips

  • Always test your soil first, we offer lab analysis  and can assist you in determining the correct application. Over liming can raise pH too high and lock out nutrients such as iron, manganese, and phosphorus.

  • Because powdered lime acts quickly, apply carefully and avoid over-application.

  • Do not use dolomitic lime if your magnesium levels are already high (especially in clay soils). choose a high-calcium lime instead, ideal for raising pH without adding more magnesium.

  • Apply 2–4 weeks before planting for best results (faster acting than coarse forms).

  • Mix into the top 10–15 cm (4–6 inches) of soil whenever possible for maximum effectiveness.

  • Avoid applying lime with high-phosphorus fertilizers (rock phosphate or bone meal)

  • Re-test every 1–2 years to maintain proper balance
